Anyone have any luck using 20 lb/6 lb diameter power pro for trout? I was thinking of giving it a try to maybe save some lures.

What Rivers do you fish?: The Mighty Mo, and a few other small steelhead factories
What Bodies of Water do you fish?: Rivers only
Hunting Area: Newaygo Michigan
i guess it would depend on water clarity on a really clear water even the smallest diameter braid looks like rope in the water, for casting sticks for kings i use 30lb power pro and tie a 6 foot 18 lb floro leader

What Rivers do you fish?: NW rivers. Guess you say that I live on one of them from spring to fall. Fish two or three other NW rivers.
Tri-City Area...Tittabawasee River, Saginaw River
What Bodies of Water do you fish?: Saginaw Bay, Wixom Lake, Secord Lake, and a few other smaller lakes
Hunting Area: Looking for a new Bow/Gun hunting spot close to home

Dan, if your talking about using the 20/6lb power pro for bownies and throwing some rap's. Go for it and don't look back. I have it on three spinning reels and love it. I also use a snap swivel for faster lure changes. But be sure that you get the heavier line rated snaps, otherwise u will have nothing but problems, or lost lures. Believe me. Nothing sucks more than loosing a 4 to 8 dolar lure on a log that is a few feet under the river surface.

I also use it for throwning stick baits for the big guys during the fall as well. Just remember, that with any braided line or any line, period. Watch for any fraying happening. If there is, just cut it, re-tie, and get back at it.

Do you have it tied right to the lure, Dale?

Yeah. sometimes I run it straight to the lure. For both trout and the big stick baits for kings. Actually for kings, I rarely use a snap swivel. IMO, doesn't seem to bother the fish

It doesnt bother the real agressive fish, blood knot on a 5 foot piece of 15 lb floro and you catch rate will triple.

Hmm. When whippin raps around for trout, they all seem aggressive to me. I guess I am doing something different than some (most) people are. Never have had a problem. So as the old saying goes "if aint broke don't fix it" My way of working the raps aint broke, so just gonna leave it alone and continue doing what I do.
