Has anyone heard of, or do you any of you paint your hooks green. Heard this from an "oldtimer" friend of ours and wanted to hear any input.( stel, your question on unpainted jigheads sparked mine, been meaning to ask this.)

I've never painted hooks, but buy 20-packs of red anodized treble hooks at Wal-Mart for like $3.50 and replace the silver hooks on my hot & tots with the red ones. Seem to do a little better with the red hooks when trolling; I'm guessing it looks like blood in the water or something.

Hi Gang!
I sometimes pait my hoog up to the bend to match my bait. This way it doesn't look like a hook it looks like a part of the bait. I use a bead on the hook eye to cover the knot and keep it from getting damaged. That helps a ton to espically trolling on or nerar the bottom.
Just my 2 cents worth
