I usually don't make New Years Resolutions but I made one this year...At least one fishing Outing a month.

So, with that Said, Next Weekend, January 13-16th I wanna do an Ice Fishing Trip Up North Somewhere where's there's thick ice for Quads and snowmobiles.

ANY IDEAS? I know Houghton Lake has 6-8 inches of ice...but other ideas welcome. I have never caught a Walleye or a trout through the ICE...so that's kinda my goal here...

I've found that the smelt fishing on Higgins is best in early March - might not have ice on it until then this year!

Don, let me know about Houghton next week. I know a few spots, and have some in my GPS.

Well I am getting word that Wamplers might be fishable and if it is Jared and I have to go there and pre-fish for the Trap Attack Tourney.

I drove by there today after I went to Cabela's and the whole lake has like 4 inches and the open water at shore is freezing fast!

I'll keep ya posted but if Wamplers is a no go I think I am heading to Houghton Lake...
