What Rivers do you fish?: NE/NW Michigan streams
What Bodies of Water do you fish?: Lake Huron-Tawas/Hammond bay(s), Lake Michigan-Little Traverse bay
Fished a couple times this week, and popped a couple nice steelhead. No numbers of any kind, but a fish a trip is enough till spring right now. The "larger" tribs around me are pretty slow at the moment, with skippers being most common(browns and steelies). I've gotten my fish from a small, flowing creek that dumps into Lake Michigan. There's ice floating just off the mouth, and it's pretty shallow right at the confluence, but a couple early spring runs are pushing in. Every fish lately has been a hen, I haven't seen a single male. While there are little pools to fish, you also sight fish some of them, even right now. You have to be SLOW and QUIET, carefully flipping your bag up to the fish or they're gone. It's pretty challenging, but fun:

Yeah, she changed locations, to my advantage. She dropped below the fence(not sure if you remember), so I didn't have the tight, brushy confines of the upper. She wasn't sighted or blind fished, kinda in between 8) . First toss of a chartruese bag, and she was on.
