What Rivers do you fish?: NE/NW Michigan streams
What Bodies of Water do you fish?: Lake Huron-Tawas/Hammond bay(s), Lake Michigan-Little Traverse bay
Hit some local unmentionables and caught a couple nice fish. I got a few skips, but also got a 5-6lb hen steelhead and a 5lb hen coho. I was in need of eggs bad, so this was good. The rivers are all at normal levels and clarity. Didn't seem like we got much of a warmup, I think 3-4 days in the 30's. There's a few fresh beds dug on the one river, but the fish are doing it at night, as they are nowhere to be found during the day. What a weird and scattered coho run this year. Spawn took the steelhead, which was visual , and a gold tot took the ho', which CRUSHED it! The steelhead all fought well, had a 3lb skip jump twice. The coho hit, thrashed, then spun in the line 4-5 times, which made for a weak fight. Not that it mattered, I had 10lb and the bill/ head of the plug was the only thing sticking out of her yap. So while the fishing isn't hot by any means, I'll take it over nothing and weeks of boredom!

Haha, that's quite a haul from Charlevoix, but maybe no different then running to the Au Sable.

I'm been home for a week but I have working on a wedding video for my cousin. It should be done by the weekend. I might have to join you on the au sable. How's the fishing been up there? That's crazy about that steely, did you catch it in the lower section?

Give me a call!
